The House of Mysteries was something that very few of the adventurers of the world were able to see, and even those who were part of the familia were completely unable to see everything within the house. It wasn't that there were any areas that were off limits, but rather, the house was hilariously massive- to the point where new members always asked Metis how it was that no one was able to find the place. It was so large, in fact, that many members had only spoken to Metis when she invited them to the familia in a dream...
The halls of the House of Mysteries were vast and seemingly endless, to the point where Metis had marble centaurs roaming them to make sure no one got lost. For those halls that were nearest the main entrance to the house, which actually didn't have any door; but rather a large crystal ball that teleported members in and out, they would hear the sound of a flute being played... Those who followed the sound would come to the main entrance, where a large water fountain was in the middle of the entryway. The fountain had various fish swimming around in it, and some swimming in the air space above the fountain. While this on its own was a spectacle to see, the true spectacle for today would be a somewhat short woman sitting on the edge of the fountain's border...
Metis's crimson eyes were closed as she blew air into the mouthpiece for the flute, gently lifting and pressing her fingers to create a gentle tune. Her long, white hair had dangled down behind her, with the last few inches being inside the water of the fountain. Around her was a swarm of paper birds, some standing on her shoulders, one on her head, one on her flute was moving as her fingers got closer to it. This one wasn't afraid of her, it just didn't want to be in the way. More birds were standing on the various fixtures in the room, all silent and watching their creator play for them. Nearby was a marble centaur who was laying down, bowing his head and closing his eyes in a very relaxed manner. This would be the scene that anyone passing by would come across, and it was what made the House of Mysteries the most unique house of them all.

[attr="class","fg-post"] The soil was moist under the verdant greens, the feel of it cool and wet against Seersha’s fingers. It felt so real. The way it clumped under his claws so authentic. He looked up into the distance, his brain trying to rationalize. But there was a waterfall INSIDE the house and he was going to mcfricken lose it. He wiped his hand against the springy grass wet with dew, getting off most of the mud. Seersha had only had one lucid dream before - of the shack he thought he was in now. But the citizens of orario had insisted it hadn’t been truly a dream, but a True dream, which was much different. [break][break]Seersha didn’t know much about the divine, other than to fear them. His tribe’s pantheon were the sandstorms that scoured you to your bones; the sounds of viscera hitting open air; the last gasps of the dying. The concept that the gods could be more than names said in justification of atrocities was still a foreign one to him. Yet Metis had been kind, interested, in their brief meeting before. Despite the sense of something non-mortal, he still couldn’t reconcile her as anything other than his own imagination. [break][break] Which was why he’d found himself here today, traveling to the shack he’d seen in his dreams. It was called the house of wonders… Well, Seersha was wonderstruck. Struck dumb, even. [break][break] How he’d gotten so lost, even he couldn’t know. The manakete stepped back through the door into a perfectly normal if ornate hallway. The door closed and he jumped back at the large centaur statue revealed behind it. He bared his fangs in surprise, body hunched low and defensive. [break][break] The centaur watched him impassively for a moment, and gave a polite bow. It motioned with its arm as if it wanted Seersha to follow and went off, hooves clicking against the marble. Seersha hesitated for a moment, strung tight like a bow, before he cautiously followed. [break][break] After a few minutes a familiar sound caught his attention. They drew closer until the dulcet tone of a flute was clear and solid through a door the centaur stopped at. Seersha went in nervously, and stared startled at the scene inside. Yes. He simply must be dreaming. The centaur was trying to enter the room as well, so Seersha moved to the side, his eyes still on Metis and the birds. He was so entranced with the music he didn’t notice until it was too late he bumped into a table. In trying to turn and look, his thick tail knocked into a pile and books and sent them to the floor with loud thuds and sheaves of lose parchment. That none of this was real, just a figment of her imagination, and that she was still trapped within the steel bars of her cage. That this was all too good to be true, so it couldn't possibly exist. Not with her. And at times like these, with the girl walking down the peaceful, seemingly infinite hallways of the Metis Familia House, Lapine was tempted to agree with that little voice.
But being here, with the birds made of paper chirping and the sparkling waters of the reverse waterfalls, with the trees that swayed in the breeze and the stone centaurs who never failed to smile as she passed, it was difficult for Lapine to actually believe that this was all simply a hallucination. No, she could never come up with something this vast. This complex. This spontaneous and wild and so utterly free.
A small smile played on the girls lips as she hugged her Cerise closer to her chest, thoughts of those she had met filling her head. Of Koko, the woman who always greeted her with open arms, eager to teach Lapine whatever she could. Of Cassius, the man who both freed her from the cages and from her own mind, who had shown her that the world wasn't just fear and desperation and suffering. It was warm, and that was something that Lapine had never really known before.
As the glow of that peaceful joy spread through her body, her heart feeling lighter than ever, Lapine's ears twitched. Tilting her head, the fluffy appendages on end and twisting towards the source, she came to the belated realization that she had been walking towards the noise without even realizing it. Her honeyed eyes softened as her breathing relaxed even further, the memorizing notes of a flute calling to her in a way that left Lapine nearly breathless.
And there, sitting on the grand fountain, was Metis. The Goddess's white hair sending a pang of pure longing through Lapine's very soul, but the songs of the flute and birds soothed her aching heart. Sitting down, back resting against the wall, the girl closed her eyes and sighed. All of the remaining tension within her body eased with the breath, ears drooping as she lost herself to the gentle tunes. As her stubby fingers tangled themselves in the plush fur of her stuffed toy, Lapine couldn't think of any other place she would rather be.
A sudden bang of something hitting a table, followed by a thundering crash, and a book slammed against her head. Lapine's heart stuttered and froze as her mind was thrown back to the cavern, the cold steel against her wrists and throat and the smell- oh gods the smells and the feeling of hands-
She gasped, a choked, gnarled excuse for a breath as she attempted to scramble backwards, whimpering as her hands slipped on the smooth floor sending her sprawling on the ground. Ears pinned back against her head, Lapine held the spot where the book cracked against her skull, curling up in a ball as panic raced through her veins.
No stop don't think it's not real you're not there you're fine but she wasn't. -THUD- And more thuds sounded off as books hit the floor, some of them being quite old and no longer found on any market stand, others having never existed outside of the House of Mysteries. The music stopped with paper birds flying off from the shock of the sudden interruption, even the girl with rabbit ears, Lapine, had been startled by the sudden noise. Metis had ceased playing her flute and looked at the source of the commotion, Seersha, with a slightly curious expression. A small giggle escaped her as she sent a gentle smile in his direction. The flute was released and it vanished from existence while Metis began getting up. While most... or rather, all people used their feet to walk, Metis was Metis and had no such logic while inside her own home. When Metis got up, rather than standing on her feet like all the normal gods and goddesses did, she was floating a few inches off the ground, and began floating over to where Sheersha was. When she stopped, she was floating to meet him at eye level and leaning forward so her face was a few inches from his. "For such a strong looking man, you're quite clumsy, Seersha." she commented with a bright smile. Metis began floating around Seersha, never turning her face away from him as she did so- like she was a tidally locked satellite, or something. "Hmmm..." she said while doing this quick orbit. Metis stopped while facing Seersha and gently poked him in the middle of his forehead, saying "Poke!" and smiling at him. "You don't need to be so tense, Seersha. You're home, you should relax a bit more!" She then floated away and kneeled down where Lapin was curled up, holding her head and seemingly lost in her own little world. Metis gently poked at her head while saying "Lapi..." in as gentle a tone as possible to reduce how alarmed the girl would get from the sudden poking. "It's okay, Lapi." she said and slowly moved her hand to take just one of the bunny girl's, and slowly lower it from the spot she was hit. "You're okay. Here..." she would say, holding out one of her hands. In the middle of it, a square sheet of paper would appear from nowhere and fold itself repeatedly to form a small, palm sized, paper rabbit that would begin moving and hopping around, before hopping down to the floor and hopping away into the distance. "I guess that one's more interested in exploring its new home." she said with a light chuckle. Metis stood up and floated a couple feet back to give Lapine some breathing room and did a quickly twirl in the air. "How are you both? Have you taken any time to look around?" she asked, her tone being quite friendly. She then looked down to the books that fell and the ones that were damaged and gave a gentle wave of her hand, causing them to lift from the floor. The ones that had pages fall out reassembled themselves and began floating away, returning to making their way to wherever they were going before.

[attr="class","fg-post"] Many times in his life Seersha had been desperate for a hole to slither into to escape a situation. But in the sudden silence after the books fell and the small rabbit-like being collapsed in a way he was no stranger to, he wondered for the first time if his claws could dig one. Then he’d ay down in it, drag back all the dirt, and spare the world from ever being subjected to his presence again. [break][break] He hesitated, hands held out and finger’s splayed, but made no further move to approach or soothe whoever he terrified. Nothing about his new body was soothing. His tail curled between his legs and wrapped around one, like a guilty dog’s, and his shoulder hunched. He was opening his mouth to apologize when movement across the room drew his instant attention. [break][break] Seersha’s stomach churned as Metis rose and drew closer, floating in a way that would have been impressive if it wasn’t so unnerving. Like most of the house it gave him the feeling of being in a dream. But his dreams had a hairpin trigger; and oft as not turned to nightmares. Dread prickled under his skin. “For such a strong looking man, you’re quiet clumsy, Seersha.” [break][break] But that was the thing, he wanted to say, I’m not strong at all. But his mouth was too dry and his teeth too clenched in nerves. Instead he just watched her orbit around him, and then flinched when she gently tapped his forehead. [break][break]While she floated down to tend to the one he’d terrified, Seersha forced himself to carefully breath in and out until his muscles untensed. Metis wasn’t like the gods he’d been told of growing up. She’d already shown herself to be kind in the dream she’d met him in. A dream that had chased away a particularly bad nightmare. He needed to be better. And quickly, before she realized she’d given her blessing to someone who didn’t actually deserve it. [break][break] “I’m sorry for scaring you, little one.” He said, voice low. Instead of approaching closer, he sat and crossed his legs. He brought his tail into his lap, nervously fiddling with one of the spikes. He tried, and failed, to look smaller; like less of a threat. “I really am sorry,” he repeated, remorseful, “I didn’t mean to.” [break][break] Struggling to think of any other way he could help, he fell back into the way he’d comfort agitated animals when he was young. He began to hum quietly, picking up as close to the tune Metis had been playing as he could. [attr="class","snailhouse"] [attr="class","Chromeleft"] [attr="class","Chromeleftoverlay"] [attr="class","NOSTALGIA"] [attr="class","Chromeright"] [attr="class","Chromeoverlay"] [attr="class","lemonsoda"] [attr="class","puppycat"]oh god she's so embarrassed There were images rushing through Lapine's glazed eyes. Of the cages and their rusted metal. Of the trainers and their sickening grins. Of a foggy silhouette, familiar and yet oh so far away. The screams of her fellow slaves as they were abandoned in the caverns, as they were thrown back into their cells after a fight, as they were first brought in before they were broken. The sobs of those who were kept for a more primal enjoyment, like she was. Of the bitter sludge that burned as she ate it, bringing tears to her eyes and singed her tongue.
Right now, she was not curled on the floor of the Metis house. She was curled on the floor of her cage. Stomach hollowed and mind slow as her body slowly ate itself in a desperate attempt to stay alive. Her tongue was dry, cracked in its need for water, her eyes unblinking in both the hallucination and in reality.
'lapi...'
What? Wait, who was Lapi? Lapine? That wasn't her name. She was-
'It's okay, Lapi.'
The scene bled away as the girl found herself sat up suddenly, sitting before the white-haired goddess. Blearily she watched the paper fold itself within her open palm, muscles relaxing and her mind quieting. "Ah.." Lapine murmured as the rabbit hopped away, gaze blankly following the construct.
Then there was a man, large and horned, sitting across from her. He held his tail, and she stared as he messed with one of the spikes adorning the long appendage. He was speaking, and she could hear the words, but her mind was too slow to fully process them at the moment. It was still trying to catch up with reality, to block the nightmares of her thoughts.
Suddenly, the man large man started to hum. He had a deep voice, baritone and smooth, and Lapine couldn't keep her eyelids from drooping as the rhythm soothed her frayed psyche. Her ears tilted forward, as if to move closer to the sound, and the tension left within her body melted away. He reminded her of a woman long ago, warm and tender as she sung to her, and the wave of pleasant nostalgia caused the fur on her arms to puff.
Her ears spiked straight up quite abruptly, a little embarrassed gasp escaping Lapine as she squished her stuffed white-pink creature against her chest. "Oh! Uh-" The man's previous words finally managed to process in her mind as Lapine realized that she had completely ignored him by accident. "N-no! It's okay, I promise!" Her words were rushed as she shook her head, a blush visible through the thick fur of her cheeks.
"I- uh- I get st-tartled easy, so it's n-not your fault! I p-promise!" Oh boy, she was starting to panic again. Taking deep, even breaths like Cassius had taught her, Lapine tried her hardest to calm down once again. Glancing up to the man, the girl met his eyes for a split second before looking away instantly, flinching ever so slightly. Tugging down on one of her ears, she scratched at it with her stubby fingers.
"Um... I'm, uh... I'm Lapine." She glanced towards him once more, nibbling on her lip as she looked away yet again. "I. Uh. I-" Lapine squeezed her eyes shut, seeming to struggle to come up with words, before her honeyed eyes burst open. "I really really like your voice!!" The Bunnie blurted out. A second passed before she realized what she said, gasping once more as she covered her face with her hands, the tips of her ears heating up with her embarrassment.
"Oh, I... Uh... Um... I mean." Lapine sighed, ears drooping with a sort of self-defeat as she looked to the floor, clutching her Cerise once more. "It's nice to meet you."
Her eyes flicked towards the Goddess, her blush deepening even further before she completely buried her face in the plush fur of her stuffed toy. Oh. Geeze. She really made a fool of herself this time, huh? Metis leaned back and gave Lapine a gentle smile, her jumpy attitude and eccentric personality was quite cute to the goddess. However, before Metis could actually say anything, the sound of buzzing was heard approaching quickly. Metis didn't actually keep any insects inside the main house, but some of the members had found them in the Enchanted Forest, as well as some of the other places where it would make sense for bugs to be. However, this time, it was no insect invasion taking place. -WHACK, WHACK-
Two winged creatures that both had the ears of an elf would smack right into Seersha's forehead at max speed, each of them being no taller than three inches, and each sporting a pair of translucent wings. Like a sticker with lead on the top, the first one peeled off and fell to the ground, landing on her back with a soft 'puff' from how tiny and light she was. She raised her hand and said "I'm okay...!" as though anyone had even asked. The second one peeled off and fell, landing right on top of her, knocking the air out of the one with a pink belt. The one on the bottom's arms and legs lifted up and fell back down flat on the ground and she said "I'm less okay..." in a slightly pained tone. Metis pouted at them and said "How many times do I have to tell you two? No racing in the house." in an almost-motherly tone. The one wearing a blueish-green belt, who was sitting on the stomach of the one wearing the pink belt, rested her hands on her legs and looked up at Metis with a big smile and said "Sorry, Metis!" to which Metis replied "That cheeky smile of yours doesn't say 'sorry' to me." It was then that the other fairy said "Sorry, Metis..." while trying to push the first off her. The sitting Fairy's wings began to flutter and she flew off of her friend, quickly noticing the bunny girl and dragon man. She seemed to light up with glee, the smile on her face growing ever wider as she darted up and flew near Lapine's face. She was inches from Lapine's eye, the big smile on her face growing with curiosity about if this person would play with her. "I'm Aina!" she said in a tone that would be much louder if she wasn't just under three inches tall. The fairy then darted around Lapine, circling her multiple times before popping up under Lapine's hair. "Hey, you're a hume-bunny!" she exclaimed and flew out from the white locks to go next to her ear and give it a gentle rub. "Uwa! You're ears are so soft!" If Lapine began panicking, Metis would say "It's alright, Lapi. They're as much part of this house and you are... Their kind are quite energetic, but very friendly." Meanwhile Aina would be rubbing her cheek against Lapine's ear saying "Fuzzy, fuzzy, fuzz!" rhythmically. While this was going on, the other fairy, who had a pink belt, would appear sitting on Seersha's right horn with just as big a smile as her sister's. Her back was turned to Seersha, right until she let herself fall and used her legs to dangle from his horn, the force of gravity seeming to not apply to her skirt as it didn't flip upside down at all... "Hi there!" she said in a joyous tone. "I'm Aino! That's my sister, Aina!" she began rocking back and forth, still dangling from the protrusion. "You guys must be new. Are you liking it here? Have you visited the Enchanted Forest? We live there! You should visit!" she never gave Seersha the chance to reply, it was like a child on espresso... Aino then straightened her legs and let herself fall, immediately flapping her wings while flipping and getting even closer to Seersha's face, right in front his eye. "You know, you're pretty cute!" she'd exclaim before flying a circle around his head and landing on the dragon man's shoulder. Aino slowly walked along his shoulder, exaggerating her steps while pressing a finger to her cheek. "How should I welcome a handsome member...?" she questioned. A mischievous smile trickled its way across her face and her wings began fluttering again. "Oh, I know." she said and flew right up to Seersha's cheek, leaned forward, and pressed her lips against it. A very soft smack was produced by the fairy's greeting kiss, and she flew back to do another circle around his head and land, sitting on the top of his head. "Count yourself lucky, mister. Not everyone gets a kiss from a pretty girl!" "Ahem." Metis said, causing both fairies to turn and see her with her hand cupped over her mouth. "You've both had your chance to meet the new members, perhaps it best to show them where you came from." the goddess would then look at the two, Lapine and Seersha, and ask "Would you both like to see? I promise you won't be disappointed."

[attr="class","fg-post"] Seersha had a great deal of experience with frightened animals, and it was coming in handy here. Though he didn’t think about it consciously, there was something soothing about soothing someone else. It let him distance himself from his own inner turmoil; focus outward for a change. So he stayed sitting and still while the rabbit girl stuttered, relieved and guilty both as she tried to assuage his guilt. [break][break] I really really like your voice! Seersha paused, his mouth still open from where he was about to introduce himself back. Blinking a couple times in surprise at the sudden outburst, he ducked his head and smiled shyly back. Then he remembered the whole huge-fangy business and rubbed his nose to hide it until he could martial it into the closed lip variety. [break][break] “Thank you, Lapine. My name is Seersha.” [break][break] He cast around for something to compliment her back on that wouldn’t sound threatening. He couldn’t really see the stuffed animal now that she had her face pressed into it, but… “I like your doll.” He said - and then something smacked into his face. [break][break] Seersha jerked back and looked at Metis with scared eyes, sure he’d somehow angered her and that she was giving him a warning shock of some kind. It took him a minute to notice the fairies, turning his head this way and that for the source of the thin voices. In fact, it wasn’t until the tiny creature with a pink belt landed on his horn. The manakete struggled to focus on it, his mind usually erasing his own horns from view as much as humans usually forgot they constantly were seeing their own noses. [break][break] “Hello,” he answered back, baffled and timid. “It’s, um, it’s interesting.” Straining his eyes to watch her swing. “Maybe? I saw a water fall, and there were plants…?He froze when she zipped up to his eye: afraid that his lashes would somehow bat her down from the air. [break][break] “C-cute?” He hadn’t been called that in months, ever since he changed. The house of wonders was again quickly becoming the house of confusion. Seersha felt the tiniest pressure on his shoulder and then his cheek, but he didn’t turn to look lest his horns knock her off. When she mentioned kiss he grimaced, pushing away the spikes of negative associations he had with the word. [break][break] Luckily Metis spoke, and he quickly turned his head towards her, possibly dislodging the fairy on accident. At this point the manakete kind of wanted to crawl home with his tail between his legs and hide under his blankets, but he was loathe to admit such a thing to the goddess. [break][break] “C-certainly..?” He said, his grip on his tail tightening. It didn’t come out as confidently as he’d hoped. [attr="class","snailhouse"] [attr="class","Chromeleft"] [attr="class","Chromeleftoverlay"] [attr="class","NOSTALGIA"] [attr="class","Chromeright"] [attr="class","Chromeoverlay"] [attr="class","lemonsoda"] [attr="class","puppycat"]i wasn't joking when I said Lapine h a t e s being touched. Over the several months that Lapine has been freed, she has come to understand various subjects and ideas that were previously unavailable to her during her enslavement. The subject of pacifism, something she never realized she was until Cassius had given her the definition. Various methods of crafting healing potions and salves. Consent, something that she was obsessed with now that she was finally given a choice to say 'no' or 'yes'. And also concept of stereotypes.
Stealing a glance at the absolutely massive Manakete before her, one would have assumed him to be something of a brute. A scary, possibly violent muscle head with no inkling of subtlety or thought, and the mere idea of an inside voice laughable at best. And yet here he was, his words gentle and soft as he regarded the Bunnie before him, with an expression almost as timid as she felt. In a way, he reminded her of Cassius. Big and intimidating, but kind. Very kind.
Lapine struggled to keep her eyes on him, forcing herself to ignore the instinct of 'if I look I'll be punished', and gave the man- Seersha- a shy, hesitant, honest smile. "Thank you." she murmured quietly, resting her cheek on the confusing, plush mess that was her stuffed creature. Her honey eyes shone with pride as her stubby fingers tangled themselves within the thick white-pink fur. "I m-made her m-"
The girl blinked as two small creatures whacked into Seersha's face, her small smile melting into a tiny frown as the fairies peeled off of him and flopped onto the floor below. They were rather dramatic, Lapine couldn't help but think.
And then one of them was in her face, just a few inches away from her eye. Letting out a startled squeak, Lapine jerked back, ears pinned low to her head. Her panic was made even worse when she felt the fairy crawling within her hair, fur bristling as she shuddered, squeezing her eyes shut in order to prevent a total breakdown.
There was that other stereotype that Lapine had discovered not long after she was freed. That all Hume Bunnies liked to be pet. That they loved their ears touched. Lapine herself wasn't one to dwell on negative emotions for too long, feeling uncomfortable with anger or sadness or fear, but she found it within herself to hate that one. For the vast majority of her life, Lapine had never gotten a choice when it came to her own body. Who could touch it. Whether or not she liked it. Whether or not she wanted it. If anything, her begging for it to stop only made the trainers more excited. More vicious.
So no. She didn't like being touched now that she had a choice. Especially when they didn't ask first.
The words of Metis made her heart squeeze, tears gathering in the corners of her eyes as she felt the tiny fairy's hands buried in her ear's sensitive fur. She didn't care if they were a part of the familia or not, if they were friendly or not. The fairy- Aina, apparently- didn't ask Lapine for her permission.
Quickly flicking her ear, jerking her head back and forth to hopefully dislodge the creature from her head, Lapine pulled her ears down to shield them from any more unwanted attention. "P-Please don't do that." she squeaked, sniffling and shifting closer to Seersha and away from Aina. "I d-don't like being... being petted." Gods. Even the word felt slimy in her mind, derogatory and demeaning. She hated it.
Lapine squirmed a bit more towards the large Manakete, unconsciously trying to shield herself with his larger form. "I... I've b-been here for a f-few months, since Cassius found me." She said with a quiet voice, adjusting her helmet so that her ears were hidden underneath it instead of sticking through the holes. Exceedingly uncomfortable, but she didn't want to take any more risks.
"I l-like it here... I have a b-bed and there's t-tasty food and Cassius and it's pr-retty and-" Catching herself mid-ramble, Lapine blushed once again as she clutched Cerise closer to her chest. "I m-mean... I guess if S-Seersha is g-going...?" Honeyed eyes flickered to his large form beside her before quickly moving on to the Goddess, gaze filled with a hesitant uncertainty.
"As l-long as they don't t-try to p-pet me again..." Metis had remained silent throughout Lapine's plight. Her expression held none of the sick sadism that her captor's would have, in fact, her's was very neutral. She was a kind and caring individual, but she was also wise enough to let others settle their disputes on their own. Life was about learning, and Metis couldn't always be the teacher. Aino had flown off of Seersha's head and confronted her sister, hovering while placing her hands on her hips. "See, now she's uncomfortable!" she scolded. Aina had replied "I-I didn't know!" Aina then turned to Metis and asked "Why didn't you stop me!?" with slightly angry expression. Metis had let out a short sigh and asked "How can you learn a world that I shelter you from?" A statement that would reveal her intentions, while also making the fairy puff her cheeks and pout. "You still haven't made things right, Aina." Metis said in a soft tone. Aino had let her head drop while also grabbing her own hands. She did feel bad, and while she didn't want to accept that she'd done something wrong, she also knew that she'd been told that not all demi humans liked being touched. It was only now that she realized just how serious it could be for some. Aina had slown closer to Lapine, just enough so she could be within a foot or so of her, instead of almost eye touching range. If Lapine had looked to Metis for any help, she would find that the goddess was sitting quite contently with the same neutral expression as before. Aina had reached out a hand halfway and stopped before shyly retracting it, she didn't want to make matters worse. The fairy looked up at Lapine with a sad, guilty expression. "Umm... I'm really sorry. I didn't know you didn't like being touched, I promise I won't do it again." Aina had grabbed one of her arms at the elbow nervously. She didn't have any experience with this sort of thing, so the situation was uncomfortable for her. "Umm... I-If you'd like... I can... make sure that the others keep some distance?" Aina's offer was accompanied by a hopeful expression. Hope that Lapine would accept the offer, and not hold this against her till the end of time. Aino had flown right next to Aina and raised her hand high, exclaiming "I'll help, too!" with a bright smile. Metis had floated to a standing position and said "I'll leave it to the two of you, then." before kneeling down and extending both her hands, one to each of the adventurers. "Come with me, please." she'd say while offering to help them get up. If either had declined letting her help them up, they would notice no negative expression from Metis. It was common for people to want to help themselves, sometimes even if they were incapable of it. Metis would begin floating up the central stairs, taking a left and heading to a large doorway that lead to a long corridor. While moving, Aino would find pleasure in sitting on Seersha's shoulder since he hadn't shown any disdain for it like Lapine, and Aina would stay near Lapine, but not on her. While walking... floating- Metis would spin around and continue floating backwards. "It's not uncommon for those new to my house to focus only on adventuring. It's the only way to make money, and there's many perks that come along with it. The issue I see with that, is that I've lost many of my children to the dungeon, and all of them had focused on the only door they saw open." Metis had stopped moving at the end of the hall, her back a couple feet from a large, ornate, wooden door. "You'll find various doors like this one throughout the house. These are here to remind my children that there's so very much more to life than killing monsters. Accolades associated with glory are nice, and I'm always proud to give you all them when they're earned; but, there are other doors to explore. Seersha, you have a very gentle nature despite inner turmoil. This is a sign of strength- not letting adversity turn you bitter and callus." Metis had floated aside and used one of her hands to gesture to the door. "Remember that nothing in this world is what it seems, and even your logic is illogical. This door will provide you with a place where you can find your youth, and many friends who don't care what you look like, or what you've done. They only care about who you are, and what you choose to do with yourself." If Seersha had shown hesitance, Aino would say "Go on, open it!" cheerfully. Once the door was opened, the two would be greeted by a sight that only the House of Wonders could produce... Behind the door would be a land filled with vines and dense brush. Flowers of all kinds, many of which non-existent anywhere else adorned the floor and trees. The sounds of birds chirping in the canopy could be heard. A monkey, hanging by its tail and eating a strange looking fruit, had looked at the new arrivals but didn't get any closer than it already was. Rustling could be heard just before a small swarm of winged elves darted out from a nearby vine cluster, flying past the group. They doubled back, one of them saying "Hey Metis!" and another asking "Are they new?" referring to Lapine and Seersha. Two of the fairies, one male and one female, had already began approaching Lapine but were quickly stopped when a ring of green energy formed around Lapine. The ring was fairly wide, and consisted of a dust-like material that was shown to be incapable of stopping anything when a leaf fell through it. The warm smiles on the two fairies' faces had turned to confused looks as they stared at Aina, who had her hands held out- clearly the one making the ring. Aina had moved forward said "She's a very polite hume-bunny, but also a little bit shy and gets unnerved easy." the green circle faded as this was said and the male fairy approached Aina and whispered something in her ear before turning to the girl and all three of them smiled and nodded before vanishing off into the brush. The other two fairies had stayed behind with Aino and kept their distance from both adventurers. One of them waved and asked "What'r your names?" in a friendly tone. Once the two introduced themselves, or if they opted not to, Metis would say "This is the Enchanted Forest. It exists only within the house, and stretches quite far. The fae here are its caretakers. They also take pleasure in entertaining themselves by showing adventurers to random places that they like." "Heeey!" the voice of Aina would call out. When Metis turned to see them coming from behind her, the three fairies were carrying a flower that was as wide across as they were tall. It was blue and the edges were glowing, and they brought it over to where Lapine was. Aina had a bright smile as she said "For you!" in hopes that it would help her get more used to their presence. Whether Lapine had taken it or not would be her choice, and she would get a warm smile from all three of them if she took it. Metis would ask them both "Do you wish to explore a little?" If they did, Metis would say that she'll follow their lead.
