[attr="class","MItxtbox"] MYTH takes place on a continental planet simply called the "lower world". The continent that Orario rests on is located near the equator, allowing for warm summers and relatively cool winters. Wildlife, and terrain vary wildly from the north to the south, allowing for an extremely diverse island that only stands to prove just how easy it has been for people to live and grow there. [break][break]
ORARIO
The history of the land Orario resides in is rather turbulent, and fraught with both hope and despair in equal measure, as most tales are. [break][break] The gods of the land were many and powerful, ruling from the heavens in ages past. They watched life flourish before them, dabbling as they pleased with their astounding powers. Many left humanity to do as they would however, finding it to be beneath them to interfere with humanity. Others enjoyed meddling in mortal affairs, finding pleasure in causing chaos or harmony through direct or indirect actions. [break][break] After a great deal of time, with much dislike of being lead by the same god, and having the role of leader passed from father to son, the Gods in unison held the first Godsmoot and began thinking of methods by which they can elect a new leader. The War Games, a series of trials to test strength, wisdom, and leadership ability was put in place and the creation of the pantheon was agreed on. [break][break] In the centermost of their land stood the tower of babel, and surrounding it was the perfect stage for many games to be held. Over time the War Games transformed, including champions selected from their familias to fight on their behalf. Most champions had received the gods’ blessing prior, but after victory, they were instilled with more power, and labeled heroes among Orarian citizens. [break][break] Orario is most easily characterized as more of random, urban scrawl that's loosely divided up by each cardinal direction. The northern part of Orario is defined by the vast majority of living space for residents with the quality of living dipping very slightly as one walks closer and closer to the large wall surrounding Orario. Like most of the buildings in Orario, residential buildings are typically made of wood and brick, often never extending beyond two stories. In most cases, houses are compact and efficient to help stop the cramping of the city. Most citizens have running water, fire places for internal heating, and plenty of windows to help keep their home cool on hotter days. [break][break] To the east of the Dungeon is the tourist areas, most easily recognizable by the large, beautifully crafted Arena in which multiple events are held year round. This concrete fortress was gifted to Orario by the Goddesses upon their arrival as a sign of good faith and a long standing alliance with the city. The Arena is circular in shape with the center of it being a flat, wide place for sparring, and the rest of it serving as bleachers and walkways connecting all of the floors. Beneath the Arena is a large basement that connects to small, staff-related buildings in which battlers are prepared and monsters are trained for seasonal fights. The monsters are kept in spacious, magically bound cages and are always kept in top health to ensure an interesting fight when their time comes. Closed off to the general public, there's a hallway in the basement which leads to where the monsters are trained and prepped for battle. [break][break] Southward is the commercial zone of Orario. From market stalls to complete businesses, this is where the merchants come together and sell their goods to the population. This is where most adventurers find themselves spending their time, as they typically gather all of their supplies from these markets and meet up with their party there. It's also where all the taverns and assorted food places are, making it a great place for social gathering and simply having a good time. These buildings are typically of far higher quality than the residential buildings, as they're usually made of brick, concrete, and can have multiple floors to accommodate the business. It's not unheard of for taverns to have mages who keep the inside cooled or heated depending on the weather. [break][break] Finally, to the west is the least populated part of the city. This is where hardened adventurers come together to offer training services to newer, inexperienced adventurers. Styled much like the commercial zone, the buildings for these business vary between huts and actual buildings, though no build is any better built than a residential home. This is also where all Familia homes are found, as well as the small bases for adventurers who choose to form their own group or party outside of their Familia. Being the most spacious part of Orario, navigating through the streets here is significantly easier. [break][break]
OUTSIDE THE CITY There are other towns and villages outside the walls. Even other kingdoms, which are envious of Orario's access to the dungeon and it's prosperity. Not all gods have settled in the labyrinth city, and some watch over entire settlements by themselves. [break][break] There is the Seolo forests directly east of Orario, and above that is the dangerous Beol mountains which is home to many escaped dungeon monsters. Nearby, you can find the fishing village of Melen, who supplies Orario much of their fresh produce. [break][break] Beyond, there is forests, both Ryumilua and Wishe, which house the different elven subjects; but both lack in comparison to the Alf Royal Forest in which only High Elves populate. They don't allow outsiders to enter except those they've allowed and will attack any and all intruders. Close to the Royal Forest is the city of Karuna, a merchants town that travelers and merchants stop at to rest during the travels. [break][break] Much like the Elven forests, Both the Dwarves and the Amazons reside in their own countries. The Dwarves residing in an underground village located at the foot of the great mountain range north of Karuna. While Telskyura is a country of Amazonesses located on a peninsula far to the southeast of Orario and is surrounded by the sea and harsh cliffs. [break][break] In the south are deserts and smaller towns in which many grow up to move to the cities instead, hoping to make coin by being an adventurer with the Guild. The Far East is an island country surrounded by water and has four distinct seasons. It is a country wrought with wars, diseases, and monsters. [break][break] The Dragon Valley is a place located at the northernmost part of the continent. It is considered to be one of the three great unexplored regions of the world.
