| Some days were good. Seersha would climb out of bed, walk out into the sunlight, and feel almost content in himself. Feel okay. Other times he had to drag himself from murky dreams he couldn’t remember; ones that left their grimey handprints all over his mind. Smears of the dark, snippets of the past. They’d taint him no matter what he was doing, a prickling sense of wrongness and anxiety just under the skin. He’d jump at shadows, and flinch to sounds that weren’t there.
Today was one of those days.
Clutching the bag of groceries he’d been asked to get by his troupe leader, Seersha ground his teeth at the sluggish pace of the crowd. His chest was tight, his heart a thick thudding against his rib cage. An anxiety attack was lingering the distance, he could feel it. All he had to do was get home. Nothing would happen. He was safe. If only the cart blocking the road ahead would hurry.
”Wait”. Seersha paused, titling his head to turn his ear towards the sound. “You!” He flinched and, realizing it was right behind him, looked back.
There was a huge manakete right behind him, coming right at him, coming to pin and tear and --
Seersha made a choked gasp, whipping full around to face the threat. His wings, small things that hadn’t yet grown much, snapped open to mantle around his shoulders in an attempt to make him look bigger. The slit pupils of his eyes were blown out in fear, his clawed hands clutching convulsively at his own arms and drawing blood. He looked around frantically - behind him the cart still blocked the path, and on either side buildings had drawn in close as a bottleneck. He needed an escape - any escape! Seersha snarled, a guttural sound that would have terrified him if he hadn’t been filled to the brim with it already. He swiped an arm forward; a raking of his claws.
And there it was! A small gap right next to the other manakete; one he could just fit through! …. If he were still 5’ and eighty pounds. But in that moment, in that blister of panic, he was still the 5’ weakling from before. Was still smaller than the man before him.
Seersha lunged forward, twisting his body try and cram through.
But there were points of collision, and most importantly the curve of his horn tip fell into the curve of the other dragon’s horn, hooking them cheek to cheek as he barreled by to the right.
(Hope this was okay! Let me know if Cass would have moved his head too fast for the chance of their horns to get tangled and I’ll change it to him just crashing his side into him! Also I tend to go for short posts in action sequences, so I hope that'll be okay if it goes that way! )

| Some ideas! A shrinking violet bara beefcake that still acts like the shrimp he was for most of his life. Despite being something like 7’8”. Deeply traumatized, he has good days and bad days on his attempted road to recovery. Because of how his mood/mindset is very prone to fluxing up and down, it opens up the possibilities of different kinds of tones to any threads you wanna do. I’ll list some plot or thread or character ideas up here, and update them any time I think of more! But feel free to suggest your own. - book worm buddies/enemies!
- manakete punch
|
[/s] [li]manakete cower[/li]seersha does the submissive display in a cowering mess to a poor confused manakete [li]protec[/li]seersha either saves someone or seersha gets saved in a thread. could be from a collapsed house, enemies, ect [li]animal fran[/li] seersha plays with your character's pet and gets caught. bonus if the animal is a viscious scary one normally [li]music friend![/li] he's been training as a bard the last few years, so knows some instruments. needs help transitioning from soprano to baritone [li]help him suck less[/li] someone with fighting experience helps seersha suck less in his new body [/ul][/spoiler] Friends! Seersha is a friend to animals! And the smaller and more animal-like your character is, the more likely they are to get his ‘must protect’ feelngs. However, he also was dependant on animals for companionship/solace growing up so they also will probably get a ‘pls protec me too’ kind of vibe from him. Particularly in for emotional problems. Let’s see… Patient and kind people, especially those who understand PTSD, work well with him. Those that can handle constantly giving encouragement to a hulking giant who is always looking like a kicked puppy. Enemies! Manakete give him flashbacks, and his hairpin responses to them are anywhere on the fight, flight, freeze, friend responses. Usually he’ll try to run, but if he’s unable, he may attack your poor innocent manakete or just grovel at them. His tribe was the most extremist of extreme. This does depend on his mindset that day! Some days he’s more resilient and others he is weaker to the trauma that haunts him. He also doesn’t mesh well with anyone who treats him “as he ought to be”, as in people who assume he’s a huge tough guy who shouldn’t show emotion. Also the bigger and scarier you are, the more likely he is to be nervous. Big is relative to anything about what he used to be (5’) and not in relation to his size now. Also? Hurt animals like in the Colosseum? He hates you. Romance! My fiance Drouva and I agreed a long time ago to only rp romance and all that kind of thing with each other. We know it’s not how most couples who rp roll, but it’s just what makes us most comfortable. : ) One-sided crushes are okay, but the other player has to remember that they won’t go anywhere and be okay with that. It’s good angst potential for your character, but I’d hate to hurt someone’s OOC feelings. But honestly your characters could all do a lot better than Seersha, ahaha. Pity Kino, tbh. [attr="class","fg-post"] It took a few seconds for the soft voice to permeate Seersha’s thoughts, and he blinked in the shelter behind his knees. Like a someone trying to pull himself from sleep’s embrace, he angled his head so one glazed eye could peer into the darkness behind him, his body responding before his mind. He knew he should feel something - probably embarrassment, but at the moment it felt distant. Like it prickled beside him; like a specter. Or, was he the one outside of his body?[break][break] Instead of being grounding, the sudden touch was an electric shock. Simultaneously, he snapped back together and snapped back wards. Nothing would have come of it if only he hadn’t been so close to the wall, or hadn’t been the size of an ox. But pain bloomed across his sensitive wings as they smacked into the mortar. Seersha’s gasp was drown out by a yowl which sent a jolt of fear directly into his guts. [break][break] He yanked forward so quickly in his haste to free whatever had touched him he ended up on his hands and knees. He twisted, hands held out and fingers spread as if to pacify. Eyes wide and pupils blown in panic, Seersha shuffled further away from the hole.[break][break] “Sorry!” He yelled. “So, so, sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you!” Why did this keep happening? “Are you okay? I can-oh, I can help!” The briefest pause in his chattering as his confidence in his healing song plummeted. “Or, I know a healer who could help If, if it’s bad? Oh no is it bad?”[break][break] kino heschra [attr="class","fg-circ"] [attr="class","fg-cred"] SELKIE[newclass=.fg-box] width:500px; height:600px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; background:url(http://placehold.it/500x600/333/eee); box-shadow:0px 0px 10px rgba(0,0,0,.25); margin:10px; position:relative; overflow:hidden; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-circ] width:250px; height:250px; position:absolute; background-color:rgba(255,255,255,.25); z-index:1; transform:rotate(45deg) scale(1); transition:.5s ease; transition-delay:1s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-box:hover .fg-circ] transform:rotate(45deg) scale(0); transition:.5s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post] position:absolute; top:600px; z-index:2; background-color:rgba(0,0,0,.85); width:calc(100%); height:calc(100%); padding:0px; transition:.5s ease; text-align:justify; color:#999; transition-delay:.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-box:hover .fg-post] top:0px; transition:.5s ease; transition-delay:.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post b] font:700 13px roboto; color:var(--fg-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post i] border-bottom:1px solid var(--fg-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post a] display:block; text-align:center; color:var(--fg-accent); font:600 13px roboto!important; margin-top:25px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div] margin:75px; font:400 13px roboto; text-align:justify; color:#bbb; transition:.25s ease; height:450px; overflow:auto; padding-right:10px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar] width:10px; border:0px; background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0)!important; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb] background-color:var(--fg-accent); border:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar-track] background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0)!important; border:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics] cursor:pointer; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h1] margin:0px; font:700 35px/35px Playfair Display; text-transform:uppercase; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2] margin:0px; width:220px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; font:700 25px/25px playfair display; text-transform:uppercase; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2:before] content:''; margin-right:10px; height:1px; background-color:#fafafa; flex-grow:1; box-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2:after] content:''; margin-left:10px; height:1px; background-color:#fafafa; flex-grow:1; box-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h3] margin:0px; width:220px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; text-transform:uppercase; font:400 82px/82px Libre Baskerville; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h4] margin:0px; font:400 18px/18px Libre Baskerville; text-transform:uppercase; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-cred] margin-top:-10px; font:700 7px roboto; margin-left:425px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-cred a] font:700 7px roboto; [/newclass]

[attr="class","fg-post"] Many times in his life Seersha had been desperate for a hole to slither into to escape a situation. But in the sudden silence after the books fell and the small rabbit-like being collapsed in a way he was no stranger to, he wondered for the first time if his claws could dig one. Then he’d ay down in it, drag back all the dirt, and spare the world from ever being subjected to his presence again. [break][break] He hesitated, hands held out and finger’s splayed, but made no further move to approach or soothe whoever he terrified. Nothing about his new body was soothing. His tail curled between his legs and wrapped around one, like a guilty dog’s, and his shoulder hunched. He was opening his mouth to apologize when movement across the room drew his instant attention. [break][break] Seersha’s stomach churned as Metis rose and drew closer, floating in a way that would have been impressive if it wasn’t so unnerving. Like most of the house it gave him the feeling of being in a dream. But his dreams had a hairpin trigger; and oft as not turned to nightmares. Dread prickled under his skin. “For such a strong looking man, you’re quiet clumsy, Seersha.” [break][break] But that was the thing, he wanted to say, I’m not strong at all. But his mouth was too dry and his teeth too clenched in nerves. Instead he just watched her orbit around him, and then flinched when she gently tapped his forehead. [break][break]While she floated down to tend to the one he’d terrified, Seersha forced himself to carefully breath in and out until his muscles untensed. Metis wasn’t like the gods he’d been told of growing up. She’d already shown herself to be kind in the dream she’d met him in. A dream that had chased away a particularly bad nightmare. He needed to be better. And quickly, before she realized she’d given her blessing to someone who didn’t actually deserve it. [break][break] “I’m sorry for scaring you, little one.” He said, voice low. Instead of approaching closer, he sat and crossed his legs. He brought his tail into his lap, nervously fiddling with one of the spikes. He tried, and failed, to look smaller; like less of a threat. “I really am sorry,” he repeated, remorseful, “I didn’t mean to.” [break][break] Struggling to think of any other way he could help, he fell back into the way he’d comfort agitated animals when he was young. He began to hum quietly, picking up as close to the tune Metis had been playing as he could. [attr="class","fg-post"] It wasn’t a woman’s voice like he was expecting, but it was still small and strained and prickled Seersha’s pity. Despite the bright day he widened his slit pupils to better see inside the bolthole, and took a step closer. Seersha’s low light vision was excellent, but not when there was both sun and shadows, and he could only see the vague shape of a face and what could be a darkened trail of blood. But the words were enough themselves.[break][break] “That’s a crock of shit! The little sneak’s a thief!” The huge-well, somewhat big, pursuer had found his voice. It sounded strained, and Seersha realized the tips of his claws were dimpled into the skin at the front of his throat. Just a little squeeze - just one flex - and they’d pierce flesh and dig into his voice box. His whole body shuddered, a wave of combating horror and elation. Is this what power felt like? He felt foggy and hot, as if he were intoxicated. Is this what they’d always felt like? When they’d had him pinned and helpless? [break][break] Saliva pooled into his mouth and he swallowed convulsively. He wondered if he were about to throw up. Seersha could tell he was trembling because there were beads of blood dipping at the edges of a couple claws. ”Didn’t like to be told no.” echoed in his mind, forced blank to fight against the memories. “P-please,” they man gasped, “please don’t.” The tone was familiar, another arrow of nostalgia to the manakete. “Please, I’ve got little ‘uns at home. They need me.” [break][break] There were some moments in time where one could almost feel the branching paths of the future. In many worlds, Seersha, overwhelmed, clenched his hand.[break][break] In this one, he left go. “Run.” He said, through gritted teeth.[break][break] The man instantly fell to his knees and scrambled away. [break][break] “You haven’t heard the last from me!” He screamed, once he was out of the alley. Then he was gone from sight. For a long moment Seersha stood, muscles locked as rigid as any statue. The rush of intense emotions had seared through him like wildfire, leaving him hollow and burnt out. He managed to make it to the corner wall before folding in on himself, curling up to press his face to his knees (with a horn between them) with his tail wrapped around his legs and his small wings hunched forward like a comforting mantle.[break][break] In the onslaught of flashbacks and fear and self disgust, he’d quiet forgotten the person he’d saved. CASSIUS Sounds great! Would you be okay making the opener? I would, but since Seersha is going to be the instigator of aggression by either panicking upon suddenly seeing him or misinterpreting what Cass is doing it makes it a little tough for me to do so. But I can try if you'd prefer!

[attr="class","fg-post"] The soil was moist under the verdant greens, the feel of it cool and wet against Seersha’s fingers. It felt so real. The way it clumped under his claws so authentic. He looked up into the distance, his brain trying to rationalize. But there was a waterfall INSIDE the house and he was going to mcfricken lose it. He wiped his hand against the springy grass wet with dew, getting off most of the mud. Seersha had only had one lucid dream before - of the shack he thought he was in now. But the citizens of orario had insisted it hadn’t been truly a dream, but a True dream, which was much different. [break][break]Seersha didn’t know much about the divine, other than to fear them. His tribe’s pantheon were the sandstorms that scoured you to your bones; the sounds of viscera hitting open air; the last gasps of the dying. The concept that the gods could be more than names said in justification of atrocities was still a foreign one to him. Yet Metis had been kind, interested, in their brief meeting before. Despite the sense of something non-mortal, he still couldn’t reconcile her as anything other than his own imagination. [break][break] Which was why he’d found himself here today, traveling to the shack he’d seen in his dreams. It was called the house of wonders… Well, Seersha was wonderstruck. Struck dumb, even. [break][break] How he’d gotten so lost, even he couldn’t know. The manakete stepped back through the door into a perfectly normal if ornate hallway. The door closed and he jumped back at the large centaur statue revealed behind it. He bared his fangs in surprise, body hunched low and defensive. [break][break] The centaur watched him impassively for a moment, and gave a polite bow. It motioned with its arm as if it wanted Seersha to follow and went off, hooves clicking against the marble. Seersha hesitated for a moment, strung tight like a bow, before he cautiously followed. [break][break] After a few minutes a familiar sound caught his attention. They drew closer until the dulcet tone of a flute was clear and solid through a door the centaur stopped at. Seersha went in nervously, and stared startled at the scene inside. Yes. He simply must be dreaming. The centaur was trying to enter the room as well, so Seersha moved to the side, his eyes still on Metis and the birds. He was so entranced with the music he didn’t notice until it was too late he bumped into a table. In trying to turn and look, his thick tail knocked into a pile and books and sent them to the floor with loud thuds and sheaves of lose parchment. [attr="class","fg-post"] “Freshest in the land!” The meddler insisted again. She thwacked the melon with a flick of her finger, her eyebrows raised as if the sound was supposed to mean something. “Yer can't cop any riper than that, for sure! Now 'ow many do yer want, isit? A big lad like yer could eat the whole lot.” Seersha swallowed nervously. The market was still a nightmare to the manakete used to the open spaces of the desert and the winding roads. A tangle of smells, a cacophony of sounds, and an overwhelming amount of people. Loud people, calling him in such demanding tones he had trouble refusing. Even now he was laden down with things he hadn’t truly wanted; the minimum he could buy to break free of the merchants without feeling as awkward. [break][break] Still trying to think of an excuse, Seersha froze. There was a part of him that was always on high alert: always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The slightest change in the crowd had him turning; easily seeing over the heads of those around him. A small figure burst from a group of cortizans and darted past where he stood. On its heels was a large man thundering right towards him. Lifelong conditioning kicked in, Seersha’s vision focusing onto the huge pursuer and fear blooming like and electrical shock. He recoiled from the man, trying to duck into the space between stalls but only jarring them both and sending piles of merchandise toppling. [break][break] The two merchants swore, but their angry voices were muffled by the heartbeat thundering in his ears. He watched the threat disappear into the alley, only noticing after a few seconds the venders tugging on his arm. Seersha looked at them. They blanched, one freezing mid sentence and standing with his mouth open. Something about his expression must have been terrifying. [break][break] Breathe in, he told himself, remembering the nights the troupe would sit near him holding his hand to their chests as they breathed in and out slowly. As they drew him from the claws of panic attacks. Breathe out. Breathe in. He forced himself to untense muscle by (copious) muscle, and gave a strained smile. They melted away from him, the woman muttering darkly about watching where he threw his own ‘big melons’. Quivering like either a deer or a hunting dog cornering prey, Seersha went into the alley. Upon seeing the scene, his intentions solidified. It was too familiar; too personal. [break][break] Up close the ‘large’ man was easily smaller than himself in both height and weight. And totally oblivious to his presence. He reacted before conscious thought, his hand latching onto the back of the man’s neck. Sheersha almost did it. He almost squeezed. Almost drove his claws into the flesh until his fingers touched and the threat was no more. He trembled with the effort not to, managing instead to simply pull the guy away and hold him an arm’s distance. [break][break] “What are you doing to that courtesan?” His own voice frightening him, a deep growl curling behind the words quiet unbidden. [break][break] He looked towards the bolthole - one he would have fit in just a few months ago. “Are you injured?”[break][break] kino heschra [attr="class","fg-circ"] [attr="class","fg-cred"] SELKIE[newclass=.fg-box] width:500px; height:600px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; background:url(http://placehold.it/500x600/333/eee); box-shadow:0px 0px 10px rgba(0,0,0,.25); margin:10px; position:relative; overflow:hidden; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-circ] width:250px; height:250px; position:absolute; background-color:rgba(255,255,255,.25); z-index:1; transform:rotate(45deg) scale(1); transition:.5s ease; transition-delay:1s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-box:hover .fg-circ] transform:rotate(45deg) scale(0); transition:.5s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post] position:absolute; top:600px; z-index:2; background-color:rgba(0,0,0,.85); width:calc(100%); height:calc(100%); padding:0px; transition:.5s ease; text-align:justify; color:#999; transition-delay:.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-box:hover .fg-post] top:0px; transition:.5s ease; transition-delay:.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post b] font:700 13px roboto; color:var(--fg-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post i] border-bottom:1px solid var(--fg-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post a] display:block; text-align:center; color:var(--fg-accent); font:600 13px roboto!important; margin-top:25px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div] margin:75px; font:400 13px roboto; text-align:justify; color:#bbb; transition:.25s ease; height:450px; overflow:auto; padding-right:10px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar] width:10px; border:0px; background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0)!important; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb] background-color:var(--fg-accent); border:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fg-post div::-webkit-scrollbar-track] background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0)!important; border:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics] cursor:pointer; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h1] margin:0px; font:700 35px/35px Playfair Display; text-transform:uppercase; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2] margin:0px; width:220px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; font:700 25px/25px playfair display; text-transform:uppercase; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2:before] content:''; margin-right:10px; height:1px; background-color:#fafafa; flex-grow:1; box-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h2:after] content:''; margin-left:10px; height:1px; background-color:#fafafa; flex-grow:1; box-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h3] margin:0px; width:220px; display:flex; align-items:center; justify-content:center; text-transform:uppercase; font:400 82px/82px Libre Baskerville; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-lyrics h4] margin:0px; font:400 18px/18px Libre Baskerville; text-transform:uppercase; color:#fafafa; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.5); [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-cred] margin-top:-10px; font:700 7px roboto; margin-left:425px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fg-cred a] font:700 7px roboto; [/newclass]

CASSIUS I apologize in advance for the many run on sentences. I was just very enthusiastic. Please let me know if something doesn’t make sense!
Okay this is really exciting because it can go in two different ways, and both would be fun to thread! Seersha is from a tribe, but his was an obviously awful one, so he honestly would have a visceral reaction to running into another makete: especially such a strong-looking one. Flashbacks triggered. Fight, flight, friend, or freeze response flares up and: freeze/friend version: I can see him responding by folding into a pathetic subservient position despite being a fricken’ buff giant and acting terrified like cassius is some vengeful god about to slay him (which is embarrassing and would cause a public spectacle and I’m guessing a lot of confusion on Cass’s end) and/or fight version if Seersha sees Cass all of a sudden or in what could be interpreted in an aggressive way, he may react violently out of fear. So tough guy fight thread! (Seersha is bigger, but only has experience fighting as a shirmp, and doesn’t know how to use his big body so RIP Seersha, but it’d be sure to be a bloody mess). A combo of freeze/friend, and/or fight, and/or flee, or none of them: there are many ways a thread can go.
I would love to thread something so dramatic and see how it went haha.
I just see a lot of dramatic potential with these two! Even if they have a bad or explosive first couple or threads it’d be cool to have them work towards being friends. Seersha could eventually tell him about his tribe, but he could also tell him about the other (less crazy) tribes his tribe traded with or raided. Let him know more about his culture. Cass could in return tell him how to not to suck at fighting as a big dude.
Does any of that sound appealing to you? You can tell me honestly if not, I promise I will 100% not be offended if you’d prefer something less bombastic.
