Hey-yo-heyyy good morning! Bumble here. Artist and RPer extraordinaire! I like to thread a whole bunch and am typically good at posting back at a decent pace~ I live in New Zealand though, so since timezones are way off the timing might seem a bit wonky. Sorry about that! If you wanna plot with me, just hit me up either in my character's plot page or on discord ^^~

[attr="class","MAbody"] [attr="class","MAHwrapper"] [attr="class","MAHformat"] speaking throughyou used to live in a forest. you know that much, and when you close your eyes you can sometimes feel the sunlight on your face as it trickled through the dense foliage. the ghost of a scent breezes past your nose- leaves and bark and dirt and rain- before it is gone the next moment. if you're lucky, you dream of running past an old man, laughing with other children as he gripes and complains with a smile on his face. the faces of the kids are gone- wiped from time and memory- but their joyful cries still echo in your mind, like distant bells in the wind. [break][break] if you're unlucky, you remember the fires. the men that came with their shiny armor and pointed swords, men who stained the green of the forest floor with the red of your peoples' blood. the screams and sobs and wails of those who were hunted. who were captured. the bodies that littered the ground, leaves fallen from the great trees and left to rot. the cool steel around your wrists and ankles, and the deep, agonizing ache of the weight of the shackles still haunts your bones today. [break][break] you remember telling yourself to not forget this place, your old home, as you are dragged away. you can't remember when you forced yourself to forget. the river streamyou used to have parents. you know that much, and sometimes you can still hear mama's soft, soothing hums from the cage next to you. still feel papa's calloused, warm hand holding yours through the bars. mama was beautiful, you feel, with long white hair and eyes as blue as the sky. her fur was snow, soft and fluffy, but warmer than the frost. you think your father was made of the earth itself, all browns and grays and reds. and you know that they loved each other very much, and you even more so. if you sit and focus and listen, you can just barely hear them whispering of sweet nothings. no words, no meanings, but it fills your heart with an aching need all the same. [break][break] the only thing about your parents that you can recall with a crystalline clarity is the blood of your papa splattering across your face as he attacked the trainers who grabbed you. the scream of your mother as you and her were separated, hand straining out to you as the men carried you away. calling to meyou used to have a brother. you know that much, but you can't remember his face. his colors. his voice. but you can recall pure, unadulterated desperation. the clenching of your heart as you and he did everything possible to stay together, because when you were separated- alone- is when the trainers would come. [break][break] those you remember clearly. one had glasses, his brown bangs long enough to brush the frames, deep green eyes shielded from the flying droplets of your own blood by the thick lenses. another one always wore a white coat and sung as he broke you, each crease of the fabric ingrained in your mind as he hurt you over and over again. punishment, they said, for various things. [break][break] speaking out of turn. looking at their faces- into their eyes. for crying. for laughing. for coughing. sniffling. sneezing. moving. breathing. existing. [break][break] but more than anything else, you were smart. even though you can't recall much of your brother, you know that he was a rebel at heart. who didn't listen to anyone or anything, and refused to bend his will against the hells of those cages. those trainers. no matter what the men did to your brother, he would not break. never crack. his spirit held firm. then you were taken, beaten, and returned. over and over again. and each time you were thrown back into that cold, cramped cell, your brother's heart would break a little more. his soul would die a little more. no, they weren't punishing you. [break][break] they were punishing him. luring me downyou used to live in a cage. you know that much, and when thunder strikes it drags you back in those steel bars. the chill of the metal reaching down into your bones to this day, the gnawing cold a constant presence that permeates from your very core. the sludge you were fed, the stale water you were given, sliding down your throat- too thick, it was choking you, but someone your brother never failed to rub your back and help it down- and settling in your stomach with the weight of a brick. it was always this bitter flavor, so foul that the smell would have your whiskers curl and your eyes water. but it was all you had, so it was all you ate. [break][break] the feeling of your brother's hand wrapped around yours warmth as you slept, the banging of the stadium above a constant cacophony of noise so loud that it was a miracle you ever got rest in the first place. though, it wasn't so bad after awhile. you got used to laying in your own filth, the screams and bangs and cheers were nothing compared to that. [break][break] the terror as the cage next to yours your brother's was emptied, leaving you alone for hours at a time. for the trainers to play with. to touch. and you can still feel their hands- [break][break] NO. don't think of that. though i knowyou used to not have magic. you know that much, because you remember feeling so utterly useless at the smell of blood your brother's constantly overpowering the cage beside you. the whimpers and groans coming from next to you your brother after the matches from the arena above had ended. the cries coming from your brother your brother YOUR BROTHER the person in that cage as they were forced away from you to go fight for their life. over and over again. [break][break] you used to scream to. they always came when you were alone. eventually you stopped screaming, because it would only make it worse. [break][break] but one day, as you were holding an injured hand, you closed your eyes and felt the warmth of the long-forgotten sun beaming down on your face. it was faint, distant, but there, and the moaning quieted. and the hand healed. just what i amyou used to be a slave. you know that much, because you can still feel the agony of the glowing steel against your back. massive and all encompassing, searing the brand into your flesh. you'll never forget that pain. the static your brother's primal screeching ringing in your ears behind the laughter of the trainers. [break][break] you remember the never ending rhythm of the day. a sword clashing against the bars of your cage to wake you up. the sludge was dumped. your brother the person was taken, and with him gone terror clutched your heart because you knew it was only a matter of time before they- hours later and he was returned. you healed him. you slept. day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, it was all the same. never ending, never ceasing, never changing. [break][break] until one day it did. you woke up on your own, the cavern filled with cages quiet for the first time since you had arrived. everyone waited for the trainers to appear. to drag the fighters up to the surface, only to return half of them at the end of the day. everyone waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. [break][break] but they never came back. you had been abandoned. locked within a cage and left to die. what i could beyou almost died. you know that much, because your stomach still aches from time to time as the memory of that debilitating hunger crosses your mind. the screams and cries of those locked down with you that echoed in the cavern day after day that eventually trickled off and died, and the silence was even more terrifying now. the sounds of breathing teetered off, one by one the slaves around you had perished. [break][break] you remember the smell. it was hot down there after awhile, and the stench of rotting flesh was even worse than the sludge. but there was something that kept you sane- your brother, his voice, calming you, soothing you, your brother your brother YOUR BROTHER- but that sound drifted off as you grew fuzzy and time seemed to speed and slow and stretch and squeeze and you were dying- [break][break] and then you weren't. you remember that the adventurers came, not their faces (you were much to out of it to commit them to memory, though you can recall them taking you in later and teaching you what you now know today), shattering the locks on your cage and taking your too thin body into their arms. you remember looking over to the cage next to yours, a name on your lips, but he wasn't moving and they weren't getting him but he was definitely alive you know that you had just heard him you were certain of it he was alive why weren't they getting him please oh gods please don't leave him he's your- [break][break] and you were alone. is the mystery to solveyou used to be happy. you know that much, because in the distance you can hear the faint ringing of children's laughter, the humming of a woman, the baritone voice of a man, and the safety of a person. [break][break] but now you are alone, and that is more terrifying than the nightmares that constantly plague your sleep. [break][break] you used to have friends. you used to have a home. you used to have a family. [break][break] but you don't anymore. [break][break] you used to have a brother. you used to have a name. you used to be happy. [break][break] but you've forgotten. [attr="class","MAbody"] [attr="class","MASwrapper"] [attr="class","MASformat"] Sunshine "o' light of day, shine down upon thee with warm and soothing rays, and by the grace of the sun you shall heal." [break] by channeling the divine energy of the sun, lapine is able to heal those around her. the strength of the spell depends on several variables, the two major ones being the time of day and if the incantation is used. like one might assume, if lapine uses sunshine during the day, it is more effective than if she used it at night. also, in order to conserve her energy, lapine is able to choose whether or not she uses the incantation for the spell. without the words during midnight (when the moon is at its highest), it is possible to heal small bruises, scrapes, and sore muscles. if the incantation is spoken during midday (when the sun is at its peak), lapine is able to heal moderate cuts and injuries, expedite the healing of broken bones (not fully, but is able to make them manageable), and cure mild poisons and infections. [break][break] *note - whether lapine is outside or deep within a dungeon does not affect the power of the spell. sunshine is dependent only on the time of day.
