[attr="class","roadhead"] Besser allein als in schlechter Gesellschaft. [attr="class","Agarrar"] Scherza did a quick mental count of their enemies. Four down, six to go. Even breaking it down to groups of three, it still felt like a lot to her. But there ws no helping it; they'd known what to expect before they came in here. She'd have to be careful in the future, especially if she wanted to explore more on her own. A bit daunting, in hindsight, but if she could take down an alpha, surely she could hold her own. In thinking of the alpha, Scherza remembered the sword they'd been sent to retrieve. She wanted to examine and determine its wealth, but now was not the time. The kobolds looked miserable, but were definitely not backing down anytime soon. Even as Akatsuki spoke, the kobolds were shaking off the shock and steadily creeping closer. Scherza nodded in confirmation. She was prepared to take on the group to the left, while Akatsuki took out the others. But a kobold from the other group abandoned the order and instead ran towards Scherza, dagger extended. As it did so, the ones to Scherza's left moved into action. She'd turned her body and sword towards the lone kobold, but now found herself torn between fighting it off or confronting the others. If she went after the one kobold, her back would be open to the other three. If she confronted the group, she'd still have a kobold breathing down her neck. Either way, she was going to get hemmed in, but she'd rather have the one to her back than a group of three. 'Remember Akatsuki,' she told herself to still her mind. She had to...believe that the girl would stay true to her word. After all, if one of them fell now, it could spell doom for the other. And she liked to think she could trust the girl to keep her word. Scherza's tail swished behind her in agitation. There was screaming in her ears, an inhuman racket from one of the kobolds; the one that ran at her, she presumed. One of the kobolds – hers was transfixed on the scene behind her, but the others were charging forward. One was armed only with its claws and teeth, but the other held a rough-hewn club in its hands. The unarmed kobold was faster and lighter. It reached her first, making broad sweeping gestures with its claws. A few of the swipes actually connected, but left little more than light scratches. It couldn't risk getting within range of her sword, and she used that to her advantage. When the one with the club tried to flank her and swung, Scherza ducked. She heard a solid BONK as the unarmed kobold took the full force of the hit. And the dumb reptile above her could only say "Huh," and started to scratch its head in confusion. Scherza stabbed up, through its belly and out the back. The kobold, still scratching its head, began to shriek. First in pain, then anger. It tried to swing at Scherza, who moved back to yank her rapier free. But it was like dragging a river of molasses. The club hit her high up on the shoulder and she grit her teeth, determined not to cry out, even as tears stung the corners of her eyes. 'Shit, shit, shit.' The stunned kobold tried to sling an arm around her, but backed off with a hard jab in the ribs. If the third one decided to pile on, this could turn deadly. And the club was back in the air, poised above her head and ready to strike. Scherza fell to the side, twisting the blade and causing fresh shrieks of pain above. It still swung at her, but the idiot behind her got in the way. One hit, two, three... While that was going on, Scherza freed her sword and rolled away to safety. She went for their ankles, hoping to incapacitate the monsters before they could home to their senses. She paused mid-stab as a shadow fell over her. Thick, green saliva that she almost mistook for saliva dripped onto her throbbing shoulder. Scherza quickly righted herself and swatted away its hand with her sword. It squeaked, but continued to come after her with a dagger. She kicked at it before hopping to her feet and stepped behind the other two kobolds. One was down on all fours, head bashed into a pulp by the one kneeling above it. The sole survivor ignored its fallen companions, knife flashing in hand. It was...smiling? Ugly rows of jagged teeth and black lips dabbed with green. Scherza liked this one least of all; it was hideous, but moved with caution, stalking her like a cat. The throbbing in her shoulder was growing stronger, and the rush of adrenaline was starting to die down. Just a bit more... A fresh wave of pain washed over her as she darted forward, and the kobold did the same. But no matter how much it tried to fool her into thinking it was well practiced with a blade, a crude dagger was no match for a sword. Scherza had reach and full use of her arms and legs. She deflected its blows as best she could, and struck out once the kobold was put on the defensive. She hacked off the kobold's dagger wielding hand and pinned it to the wall with her blade. It was a cleaner death than the other two were given, but it was over. And so was Akatsuki's share, it seemed. Scherza sighed and leaned against the now empty wall to catch her breath. The third kobold and the others in its group all left behind black crystals, which Akatsuki was making her way towards. Right, combat support. It was strange that their main purpose was to clean up after adventurers, but that's how the world worked. "Just a little," she mumbled, when asked about her injuries. The runarl was covered in scratches, but they were shallow wounds. Her shoulder and sighed worried her a bit, but they were nothing major. Still, she tapped out the problem areas and gave a sullen shrug. "They aren't bad, I can still fight." It was too early to turn back now, but she was alright with sticking to the first floor. She didn't care much about the sword right now, however. If it was a rapier, maybe... But she did not see how finding the body was "lucky." They were dead; they were the lucky one. But she asked anyway, out of curiosity. What did that mean? She glanced down at her own sword when given the answer. Scherza wasn't terribly attached to the blade, but she could understand the sentiment behind it. If someone wanted to loot her body, she'd rather they take it from her grave. ✏: Alive: 0/10 || Dead: 10/10 @: AKATSUKI 瑤光 [newclass=.Agarrar]padding-top:10px;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;font-size:10px;color:#b9b9b9;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;opacity:0.8;[/newclass] [newclass=.Agarrar b]color:#1da074;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead]font-family:'Iceland';font-style:normal;font-size:18px;font-weight:400;color:#1da074;text-align:center;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead:hover]color: #bc4c72;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass]

[attr="class","roadhead"] Besser allein als in schlechter Gesellschaft. [attr="class","Agarrar"] Okay, so that plan failed. The kobold had eyes for her alone, but in its haste to attack her, left itself open to an attack from behind. The kobold screamed as his previous wounds were torn apart by Akatsuki's blade, but it wasn't enough to finish it off. 'Well, there's a reason she calls herself a combat supporter...' Regardless, the kobold was now a sitting duck. Akatsuki must've hurt him pretty good, because he slumped over, grunting and feebly clawing at the ground. It was actually pretty sad, and had she not been preoccupied, Scherza would have dealt the final blow and put the poor bastard out of its misery. But two of the kobold's buddies were flanking her; the one she struck at, and one who tried to take advantage of her open back. The keyword here is "tried". It managed to knick her in the side, but Scherza avoided the worse of it by dancing to the side, thrusting her blade up and through the shoulder of the other kobold. It occurred to her just how easy it would be to die in here, had she gone in on her own. But she had Akatsuki, who sliced through her kobold's back with surgical precision. Was this really her first time in the dungeon? The kobold, perhaps sensing that the smaller target was a greater threat, yanked himself free of Scherza and – she winced. It wasn't a bad cut, but she didn't need to see inside the monster's head. Or...she tried not to think about the others, who were now crawling on the floor. The bastard with the sword was rushing forward, but its movements were clumsy and predictable. It may be the alpha, but that sword was made for human hands, not claws. One of the other kobolds dived for Akatsuki, but by now Scherza was more than confident in the support's capabilities. She had bigger fish to fry, like dodging the alpha's wide swings and claws. She was used to sparring with others at and above her level, and this guy was definitely not her equal. He relied more on his bulk and strength, but Scherza was nimble and could wear him out while poking him down. She hopped back when Akatsuki called out, not knowing what to expect, but pleased with the results. The big guy almost dropped his sword when a smaller kobold slammed into him. Angry, the alpha slashed and kicked at the dying kobold, which fought back as best as it could. It was as good as an opening as she was going to get. Scherza danced around the flailing limbs and writhing bodies, stabbing at the alpha as he tried to stand up and reorient himself. He'd already sustained some damage from his now dead companion, and was now struggling to fight off the flurry of blows. She kicked him in the small of his back and drove her sword down, between the shoulder blades. So deep she almost couldn't pull it out. The alpha slumped forward, landing facedown in a pile of his own sick. Was he dead...? She jabbed at the body a few times, but he wasn't responding. "Whew..." If this was her first kill, it felt rather anti-climatic, but the fight wasn't over yet. The remaining kobolds had come to a stop, but they all had eyes for her. Scherza locked eyes with one as she stabbed into the head of one of the crippled kobolds, killing it. The other one, seeing what was happening, tried to crawl away, but was cut down in the act. She didn't want to risk them turning on her if she got knocked down. ✏: Alive: 6/10 || Dead: 4/10 @: AKATSUKI 瑤光 [newclass=.Agarrar]padding-top:10px;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;font-size:10px;color:#b9b9b9;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;opacity:0.8;[/newclass] [newclass=.Agarrar b]color:#1da074;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead]font-family:'Iceland';font-style:normal;font-size:18px;font-weight:400;color:#1da074;text-align:center;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead:hover]color: #bc4c72;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass]

[attr="class","roadhead"] Besser allein als in schlechter Gesellschaft. [attr="class","Agarrar"] She could feel it – a ball of nervous but eager energy swelling up from the depths of her stomach. They were going up against living creatures, not test dummies. For a fleeting moment, she almost wish she'd gone with the larger party. But then she reminded herself that this was not to be a full on assault, but a curious foray onto one or two floors. Scherza wanted to get a taste of what she was in for, during future excursions. "Hm?" At the sound of her name, Scherza turned her head. She'd been rubbing at her chin with her forefinger, occasionally tapping her lower lip. "It's my first time, as well. I'm still unsure if I want to go any deeper than the first floor, but I was going to play it by ear..." If she felt confident, maybe. For now, they could stick to one floor and retreat when it became too much. The sight of two frightened adventurers gave her pause, however. They'd lost their friend and led monsters straight to the door. It was sloppy, but she chose to keep those thoughts to herself. No need to kick them when they were already down. "If I die, I die," she said, ignoring them and moving towards the door. Again, the survivors interrupted, this time tasking them with retrieving a sword. Scherza assumed it belonged to their fallen companion, but said nothing. If they wanted it so badly, they could go in and take it. She personally wanted to see if it was worth anything. It was a bit brighter than Scherza preferred, but she'd have to make do. If she timed it right, she could definitely get the jump on them. She drew her sword and masked her footsteps, ears flickering at the faint sounds of clumsy and heavy-footed critters coming from up ahead. It was like listening to someone crashing through the underbrush. 'So noisy.' Perhaps they thought they were safer in numbers, but they were going to regret that carelessness soon. "Follow my lead," she whispered to Akatsuki. And just like that, Scherza was gone. When they came to the twist in the hall, Scherza tried to make herself as small as possible, rounding the corner and striking the closest kobold with her rapier. The lizard-like creature grunted in surprise and tried to defend itself with a crude dagger. Scherza swung her arm up to knock the dagger aside and drove her knee into its gut. For a moment, the kobold appeared to stagger, maw working and saliva dripping. She could feel (and smell) its hot, rancid breath on her cheek and tried not to gag. Imagine being cut down by one of these nasty little bastards. 'There has to be a better way.' No one would mourn her if she died to a kobold. She shoved it away from her, away from the others, towards Akatsuki. With its back to her, Scherza was able to get in another slash, before immediately turning to stab at a second kobold. This one had had time to get over the initial shock of seeing its friend attacked, but she was ready for him. ✏: --- @: AKATSUKI 瑤光 [newclass=.Agarrar]padding-top:10px;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;font-size:10px;color:#b9b9b9;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;opacity:0.8;[/newclass] [newclass=.Agarrar b]color:#1da074;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead]font-family:'Iceland';font-style:normal;font-size:18px;font-weight:400;color:#1da074;text-align:center;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead:hover]color: #bc4c72;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass]

[attr="class","roadhead"] Besser allein als in schlechter Gesellschaft. [attr="class","Agarrar"] Scherza's ears lightly twitched, painfully aware of the seconds that ticked past. The girl was a bit pink and working on a cookie. Perhaps this was a bad time...? But it was too late to turn around now, and she was still curious about the "combat supporter" angle. She took a step back when the girl moved off the fountain. The bow surprised her; not too many people here were as elegant. Scherza started to give a polite nod of the head, but was not able to fully return the gesture in kind. Her tail froze and her ears perked up, before briefly flattening against her head. A large group of adventurers had appeared behind the girl and were now trying to steal her away. "Excuse you," she said, voice quiet and tight. They had plenty of people already! Why did they need more? She crossed her arms, tail lightly swishing behind her in annoyance. It wasn't just that they were interfering, but now the main conspirator was mocking the girl. But it was just one of her versus the lot of them. It all boiled down to whatever Akatsuki wanted to do, but it seemed the odds were not in the man's favor. "Oh." The man, in his condescending squat, realized too late that he should've remained standing. She hopped back as the man lurched into the air, screaming and hollering. The rest of his party were similarly rattled, particularly the "last man standing." Scherza smirked and shrugged when they glanced her way. It was a bit too much, but she admired the girl's ability to defend herself. "I would be pleased to have you," she said, once Akatsuki continued their conversation. "My name is Scherza." Her eyes flickered to the side as the man finally hit the ground with a thud. She'd almost forgotten about him, and chuckled into her hand when he was struck by the signpost. "I think he needs you a lot more than you do him. What a weak man..." And he had the gall to tell Akatsuki her place was in the back? Bullshit. Scherza wanted a piece of the action, though she wanted more than a two pump chump. "Let's go." She caught herself before she could follow up with a "I want to fuck shit up." "I'm eager to explore the dungeon." There, better. She wanted to put her blade to proper use, not on dummies or in sparring matches, but to kill and maim. Something with a real bite to it. How hard could it be? ✏: --- @: AKATSUKI 瑤光 [newclass=.Agarrar]padding-top:10px;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;font-size:10px;color:#b9b9b9;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;opacity:0.8;[/newclass] [newclass=.Agarrar b]color:#1da074;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead]font-family:'Iceland';font-style:normal;font-size:18px;font-weight:400;color:#1da074;text-align:center;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead:hover]color: #bc4c72;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass]

Scherza grew up in an enviroment that required her to be social and polite; her family ran an inn and she was expected to help out. But underneath the customer service voice, was otherwise unforthcoming and disliked getting personal. Still does, really. She can't pinpoint when exactly it started, but at some point she stopped "feeling" her emotions. Except for those times when she had moments of clarity and they were too much to handle. [break][break] And so she learned to cover them up, to adapt to the emotions projected to others. Mostly to avoid drawing attention to herself and having to answer complicated questions. Questions she really did not want to answer. Anyone who has spent enough time around her or cares to notice that something is off. [break][break] Such as her distrust of men and the aloofness that follows. She can't help but be frank and a little stern, especially if her boundaries aren't respected. But she generally doesn't take well to physical contact without her say so; the last person who grabbed her tail was instinctively kicked. She's got some deeper issues, but the dangerous one has been reduced to casual ideation. [break][break] On a lighter note, Scherza is rather open to dungeon exploring as a group, or at least until she's strong enough to venture out on her own. She's suicidal but not entirely careless. For now, she wants to let out some pent up frustration on monsters and not on herself or others.

It's a work in progress. She can fake friendliness to an extent, but actually letting people in and maintaining those bonds is not an easy feat. To break the status of superficial friend, trust needs to first be established. Scherza would never admit it, but she is a fairly lonely person. It's why she retreated to books and treats them like good friends. But it's not the same as flesh and bone. [break][break] She really picks up when you give her something to solve, like a puzzle box or a bit of wire that needs to be untangled. That kind of stuff stimulates her mentally and is something to keep her hands busy. She also has a fondness for morbid jokes [/PTab={margin-top:-30px;margin-left:-10px;width:314px;height:452px;background-color:#111; }] [PTab= [attr="class","MYPleftbutton"][attr="class","fas fa-bolt"] ] [attr="class","MYPrighttxtbox"] [attr="class","MYPrighttop"] enemies [attr="class","MYPrighttxt"]

It's really low on her list of priorities right now. [break][break] Not a huge fan of planning out romance in advance, tbh. I'd rather it be organic. Especially with someone who is...emotionally unavailable. [attr="class","roadhead"] Besser allein als in schlechter Gesellschaft. [attr="class","Agarrar"] Some asked why she fought, rather than home with family; "family" being the people who birthed and raised her. Depending on who asked, Scherza could provide a variety of answers. Fortune and fame were what most liked to hear, while others were easily placated if she announced her allegiance to her Familia. Only a few oddballs brushed against her true intentions, and for them, all she had was "Death." Not the whole truth, but short and quick and to the point. But how many people wanted to work with someone who would so easily lend herself to death? Not many, she reckoned. And at any rate, she was more inclined to explore the dungeon on her own. Or would, once she was strong enough to do so without frequent retreats. Scherza lightly touched the hilt of her sword, both out of reassurance and to cease her fiddling. There were many opportunities before her, from burly adventurers to slim and lithe supporters, and vice versa. Some were in groups of two and four, the former being her ideal. It would be awkward with just the two of them, but she preferred that to feeling lost in a larger group. And people in larger groups were usually friends or at least familiar with one another... Walking through the throng of lonely supporters left her feeling uneasy. Picking one vaguely reminded her of fighting over puppies with her brothers and sisters. What made a good support, anyway? Someone strong enough to carry her gear and supplies...like a mule? One of them, a young man with arms like tree trunks, flexed and winked when she caught his eye. If the thought of treating men like slaves amused her, maybe. Instead, Scherza found herself staring at a sign propped up by a rather small girl...a Prum? That alone was cause for concern, but unlike the other supports, this one was advertised as a "combat supporter". Infinitely better than a mere pack mule. Maybe she knew a thing or two? Scherza let her face soften as she approached the girl, adapting a charming smile. Pretending came easy to her, after all. "Hello! I've never seen a combat support before. Would you like to group up?" There was something pleasantly unalarming about most girls, and she could handle (tolerate) the catty ones. ✏: An introvert playing an introvert posing as an extrovert... @: AKATSUKI 瑤光 [newclass=.Agarrar]padding-top:10px;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;font-size:10px;color:#b9b9b9;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;opacity:0.8;[/newclass] [newclass=.Agarrar b]color:#1da074;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead]font-family:'Iceland';font-style:normal;font-size:18px;font-weight:400;color:#1da074;text-align:center;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.roadhead:hover]color: #bc4c72;-webkit-transition: all .5s linear;-moz-transition: all .5s linear;-ms-transition: all .5s linear;-o-transition: all .5s linear;transition: all .5s linear;[/newclass]
